David Pawsons Burden for New Zealand (2)

During his visit to New Zealand, David Pawson was handed a vision about a Commando Army that had been received five years earlier. This vision confirmed his burden and explained how an economic crisis would bring revival. This vision described an economic crash that is not just another judgment on the world, but a key element in God’s strategy for accomplishing his purposes for this nation. This vision contained several keys to understanding God’s strategy.

  • Most Christians would be shattered by an economic crisis. They have been blinded by wealth and drawn into a materialistic lifestyle. In an economic crash these people would be totally crushed.
  • Christians have taken a worldly attitude into the church and starting running it like a business, paying their fees and leaving the professionals to do the work. Churches that are dependent on this money machine will grind to a halt during an economic crisis.
  • The world forces will also be shattered. Satan has used the lure of money and material wealth to hold the people captive, so the crash will break his hold over many people.
  • In difficult times, power flows to those who are prepared. The commando units are Christians who have prepared by learning to live simply without the trappings of the world. Their only motivation is love for Jesus and love for each other. They will have committed to serving each other and will know how to support each other through times of pressure. These Christians will know how to move in the power of God and will be able to minister to all people in all situations.
  • The commando units will not be touched by the crisis. They would not be surprised by climactic events, so they will be strong at a time when everyone else is shattered and confused. Their powerful proclamation of the gospel will be welcomed by people looking for hope and peace in a sea of trouble.
  • People of the world who gained meaning through wealth and consumer goods will be looking for a new meaning to life and will be ready to receive the gospel. The result will be a mighty victory for God.
God’s strategy is to economic crisis to shake up the worldly and loosen Satan’s hold on the nation. The problem is that he cannot shake the world system without also seriously shaking his church. His strategy will only work, if some Christians get into a place where they will not be touched by the economic crisis. The plan would succeed, if significant groups of Christians get prepared.

Timing is Critical
God did not send the flood until the ark was completed. If he had sent the flood sooner, Noah and all the animals would have been wiped out. This meant that the timing of the flood was partly in Noah’s hands. If he spent time preaching when he should have been building the ark he may have actually deferred the flood. In the same way, God could not send the economic crash until the commando armies were prepared. If he were to send a crash before they were ready, it would do too much harm to both the church and the world. The timing of this crash is not determined by economic events, but by what happens in the church.
When this commando army is ready God will drop the bomb.
God could not send this economic crash until his commando army ready.

This has good prophetic value,

BUT it's a great illustration.

no time, no clock, just sequence, just what, not when. And this was 1982. Many would have despaired of this prophecy.

Two dimensional vision with an understanding of sequence but not of time

Just like the Prophet Isaiah in chapters 13-21

Only twice in all those profoundly prophetic chapters about the middle east, some of which we have seen in our day, had any indication of when, just what and in sequence.

I have a prophecy I received from 3 different prophets in 1995-1996 and 1998, the identical word. I have been living on to this day. Nothing, YET. It's promise is still alive. I just don't know when.

That's the way it works. Sometimes by God's grace we get a time line.

One that God uses to encourage us constantly is, "About this time tomorrow things are going to CHANGE"

It's always true and in a way it is tempered by seeing the future what Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal (live in time), but the things which are not seen are eternal.

We are to walk by faith and not by Sight..2 Corinthians 5:7

Demanding a timetable from the prophetic may be demanding a sign.

That's Not faith. It's sight.

You are missing the point. For the prophecies recorded in the scriptures, the Holy Spirit has to cover the whole of history. So of course many of the prophecies were for times way in the future that the prophet did not have a clue about. The Holy Spirit will give the timing when the timing is right. We are not in the situation of those prophets, so their experience does not give us an excuse to put timing tin the too hard basket.

With regard to the prophecies referred to in this post, part of their power is that the Lord was very clear about the timing. He said that these things would happen when his people are ready, ie they were conditional. So the only people, who be disappointed or feel despair could be those who be those who ignored what he said about timing. Perhaps, those who prepared, but were not supported by enough other Christians could be disappointed too.

My main point remains. If Christian prophets want to be taken seriously, they will have to do much better on timing. Being vague about timing is really just a “cop out”. Statements like "About this time tomorrow things are going to change" by people who like “feel good fuzzies” are all over the internet. They arrive in spam every day. God can do better than that.

He will not always give precise timings, but we need to be sure that it is not because we have not pressed in to get the full revelation.

With regard to 2 Corinthians 4:18, we walk by faith, but faith does not walk blind, because faith sees spiritual realities that the world cannot see. That is what prophecy is all about. Waling by faith become difficult, when the prophets are vague.

I appreciate I am a year late on this. The Reserve Bank Governor has written a book saying how close we as a nation came to a collapse in 08. He is on the phone almost daily to the PM these days. SCF has collapsed but the guarantee scheme comes off end of 2011. The Canterbury earthquake has also added to the economy which hasn't been this weak since the late 60s or other down periods. Investigate Magazine Dec 2010 explains how USA is buying her own now value less bonds, printing more paper in order to inflate-bubble her way out of what one IMF professor described as a 200 Trillion dollar 840% US GDP debt. So I would say that within 24 and at the most 36 months we will be in this period predicted. My advice to key people is get your debt levels down so that these Banks which destroy us by lending worth less paper don't come to take away our assets. As to lifestyle- well I have a 300thousand house seven bed rooms three bathrooms two kitchens etc and I have always worked on the minumum wage level. Seek ye first the kingdom of God..no holidays no indulgences no overseas trips... but time now is very very short so do what God tells you to do. love paul
